Edo - Kites

The distinguishing feature of an Edo kite is its 14-line bridle.

The length of the bridle lines is about eight times the diameter, i.e. in our case, after all approximately 2 m. The length of the bridle lines is not only meant to tune the kite slantwise to the wind, but also and especially to stabilize it.

		The photo on the left shows the only one of our kites that is neither self-made nor a miniature: but it is an original Chinese kite! This "good-luck bat" is a souvenir from the mother country of kites.
